Encrypted on Purpose | 1 Corinthians 7:17

In this soul-stirring entry from Sip & Share the Real Tea, Jennifer Murchison invites readers to reflect on the truth that our callings are not only divinely appointed—they’re custom-coded by Heaven. Anchored in 1 Corinthians 7:17, this post unpacks the freedom that comes from embracing the life God has assigned to you—regardless of qualifications, experience, or outside opinion.

With transparent reflections on her own journey into motherhood and a cinematic parallel from Disney’s Moana, Jennifer reminds us that our calling doesn’t come with a crowd vote—it comes with a God-confirmed assignment. Comparison will crash your system, but obedience will unlock your anointing.

Whether you're a first-time parent, a new leader, or simply walking through a season where you feel under-equipped, this blog post will encourage you to release imitation and walk boldly in your God-given purpose. Because when God calls, He equips—and He will do the rest.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Key Themes:

  • Trusting God's call despite feeling unprepared

  • Breaking free from comparison traps

  • Obedience over imitation

  • Embracing purpose with faith and partnership

๐Ÿ”— Must-See Moment:

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ Opening Prayer ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

God, before we even begin, we silence the noise of comparison, doubt, and inadequacy. We make room for Your voice to be louder than every other narrative playing in our heads. Your Word in 1 Corinthians 7:17 reminds us that our lives have been uniquely assigned, handpicked, and tailor-designed by You. We come boldly, but humbly, into this space of reflection, asking You to realign our focus.

As we sip this truth today, we declare that every spirit of insecurity, fear of failure, or obsession with someone else’s assignment be drowned out by divine clarity. We decree that distractions, discouragement, and doubt will not distort what You've already declared over our lives. Lord, we didn’t always feel ready when You called us—but You called us anyway. You don’t need a résumé; You need our “yes.”

So today, we open our hearts to wisdom and transformation. We leave this moment different than we came—more confident in our call, more grounded in our identity, and more aware that You do the equipping for every assignment You give. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Encrypted on Purpose”

Have you ever tried to log into a system with someone else’s credentials only to get hit with that bold red Access Denied?

This is exactly what Paul is getting at in 1 Corinthians 7:17. He’s reminding the church—and us—that we are each assigned a life and a calling that is custom-coded by Heaven. It’s not about how ready we feel. It’s about who called us.

Let me make it personal.

When God called me into motherhood, I didn’t feel ready. I was a first-time mom with zero experience. Yes, my own mom was incredible. Yes, I had read the books and gathered advice—but nothing fully prepares you for those 2 a.m. cries, the developmental milestones, or the mental load of being responsible for a whole human. And yet, my lack of experience was irrelevant to God.

God didn’t consult my feelings or conduct a survey of public opinion to decide if I was equipped. He said I was. And that was that.

What I lacked in preparation, He promised to supply through partnership. Where I was weak, He was strong. Where I was unsure, He gave clarity. And as long as I kept Him at the center—He did the rest. And isn’t that just like God?

Here is another example.

Another clear illustration of this idea of, encrypted on purppose, is found in the animated film Moana. There’s a scene where Moana, after wrestling with self-doubt, finally realizes who she is and what she was chosen to do. She says, “The call isn’t out there at all, it’s inside me.” That moment? That’s divine alignment in motion.

Despite not having sailed beyond the reef or possessing all the knowledge of her ancestors, Moana steps into the role she was born for. And that’s what made her powerful—not perfection, but obedience. Her calling was not a group vote. It wasn’t based on seniority or expertise. It was sealed inside her—just like yours is.

We often assume that divine callings come with full manuals and guaranteed confidence, but most of the time, they come with stretch marks—emotional, spiritual, and sometimes literal ones. They come with stretching, uncertainty, and a lot of faith.

That’s why comparison is a trap. Social media will show you the filtered results of someone else's assignment without giving you the behind-the-scenes footage of their process. And if you're not careful, you’ll abandon your post trying to audition for someone else's part in a story that God never cast you in.

It reminds me of that phrase that’s been bubbling in my spirit:
“Access denied. You can’t copy Jennifer’s calling. It’s encrypted with divine purpose, tailor-made and Heaven-sealed. Imitation will only crash your system.”

You see, when God assigns a calling, He also embeds in it the grace, wisdom, and strength needed to walk it out. Not someone else’s strength. Not someone else’s tools. Your own—given by God, nurtured in partnership with Him.

So whether you’re a new mom, a first-time leader, stepping into a ministry, or just trying to stay faithful in a dry season—remember: your calling isn’t a copy. It’s a calling. And that’s the real tea.

๐Ÿต Real Tea (Truths to Remember) ๐Ÿต

  • Your calling doesn’t require crowd approval—just God’s confirmation.

  • You don’t need experience to be equipped—you need obedience and faith.

  • Imitating someone else’s assignment will short-circuit your own.

  • When God calls you, He commits to completing the work through you.

๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ Closing Prayer ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

Lord, thank You for assigning us to lives with purpose—even when we didn’t feel prepared. Your Word in 1 Corinthians 7:17 reminds us that our position is no accident; it's by divine appointment. So today, we bind every spirit of comparison, self-doubt, and inadequacy. We bind every lie that tells us we're not enough or not ready.

We loose the spirit of confidence rooted in Christ. We loose wisdom, discernment, and bold faith to step fully into what You’ve called us to. Whether it’s parenting, leading, serving, or healing—let us not shy away from the call just because we feel unfamiliar.

May we stop trying to duplicate someone else’s destiny and start walking boldly in our own. God, do the rest. Fill in the gaps. Strengthen our hands. Guide our feet. And refresh our hearts. We leave this space declaring: We are called. We are ready. We are equipped. We are chosen. And that is TEA we can clock. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
