Opening Prayer

📖 Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Father God,
We come before You today, hearts open, minds ready, and spirits hungry for the wisdom found in Your Word. Life has a way of throwing us into uncertainty, and sometimes, we don’t know which way to turn. The noise of doubt, the whispers of fear, and the weight of anxiety try to take up space where only trust should reside. But today, Lord, we quiet those voices.

We declare that we will lean not on our own understanding but on Your perfect wisdom. We surrender every worry, every situation that we’ve been trying to figure out on our own. From our health to our finances, from our families to our future—God, we place it all in Your hands.

Holy Spirit, drown out the distractions. Help us trust first instead of running to our own solutions. Let Your peace fill us as we sip on the truth today: that You are the ultimate expert, the One who never fails, the One who sees the end from the beginning.

We decree and declare that we will leave this moment stronger than we entered it—not because we have the answers, but because we know the One who does. Direct our steps, Lord. Help us to P.R.A.Y. our way through uncertainty and to walk boldly in faith today and always.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Trusting in Uncertainty

What’s Brewing in Your Life?

Let’s be real—life is always brewing something. Some days, it’s a slow simmer, manageable. Other days? It’s a full-on rolling boil, and you’re scrambling to keep the pot from boiling over.

Maybe you just got a call from the doctor, and the uncertainty of what they’ll say next has your heart pounding. Maybe your child is struggling—mentally, emotionally, academically—and you’re signing them up for therapy, tutoring, or whatever intervention you can find because you just need to fix it. Maybe you’re staring at bills that don’t add up, applying for jobs that don’t call back, or feeling stuck in a situation that makes no sense.

The first instinct? We look for solutions.
We reach for what we can control. We make the appointments, call the counselors, search for experts, and research until our heads hurt. And listen—none of that is wrong. But what if instead of letting trust in God be our Plan B, we made it our Plan A? We take a couple of moments to put our faith into action before making the appointment.

I know what you’re thinking—
"That sounds nice, but it’s not that easy."
"I have real problems that need real solutions."
"Trust is cute, but I need something tangible."

I hear you. I really do. But before you close this tab, be bold enough to keep reading—because God has a Word for you today.

The Truth About Trust

The first word in today’s scripture is TRUST—and here’s the thing:
You already know how to trust. You do it every single day.

  • When you go to the doctor, you tell them everything—no sugarcoating, no missing details—because you trust that the more they know, the better they can help.
  • When they prescribe a medicine, you don’t sit there analyzing every chemical compound. You do't rely on your context, Google MD, ChatGPT, or YouTube University, You just take it, trusting that it’ll work.
  • Then what? You start looking for results. You check your symptoms, track your progress, expecting that it will work and if it works, you share the tea with everybody!
  • And if it doesn’t work? Oh, we're back in that office, receipts in hand, demanding another plan. If it does work, the next time we are faced with uncertainty in this arena, we return to the "expert", because they are the TRUTH! Their guidance yields results.

That’s faith in action—but in people. In systems. In medicine.

Now, what if we put that same energy into trusting God? We put our faith into action. Let's talk about how we do that...

P.R.A.Y. Your Way Through Uncertainty

God is saying, “You trust the doctor with your diagnosis, the therapist with your mind, the mechanic with your car… why won’t you trust ME with your life?” - Jeremiah 17:7

But how? When uncertainty knocks, here’s how we fight back, we P.R.A.Y.:

  • PPlace your trust in Him. Not with just some things, but everything. Your health, your kids, your finances, your broken dreams, your silent fears. Spill it all—no filter. (Proverbs 3:5a)

  • RReplace your context with His. Your understanding is limited. If Google MD and YouTube University can’t diagnose you correctly because they lack the context that only an "expert" can provide, how much more do we miss without God's wisdom? Stop leaning on your perspective—seek His, it's found in his WORD. Start reminding god of the truths found in his context, not that he needs a reminder, but so often we do! Evict those things that are not of him, using his word as precedence of why they SHALL leave. We call this binding! (Proverbs 3:5b)

  • AAcknowledge Him in every situation. Even when you don’t see it, declare it. Speak life. Praise Him before the breakthrough. We call this loosing! (Proverbs 3:6a)

  • YYield to His guidance. No back-and-forth, no second-guessing. Just OBEY. When his promises, fail to return void, share the tea with everyone! Add it to your testimony tablet! (Proverbs 3:6b)

I hear you again, this sounds so much easier than it is, I thought so too until I saw the movie war room, until I tried it myself.

Before we go any further, take a moment. Pause and watch the scene from War Room. Watch how Elizabeth handles uncertainty—how she puts her faith in action!

Faith in Action: War Room

In the movie War Room, Elizabeth receives a text confirming her worst suspicion, he's cheating. Now, she could have called her best friend to give or get  the "tea", set up a dramatic confrontation. But instead?

She does something different. She puts her faith into action.

  1. She goes into her war room—And when she gets in there? Baby, she lays it all out. Every worry, every doubt, every ounce of heartbreak. She doesn’t sugarcoat a single thing. She tells God everything—just like you’d vent to your best friend, just like you’d let a doctor know every symptom.
  2. She stops worrying about whether she’ll look crazy, whether God will judge her, whether she has enough “faith points” to qualify for a breakthrough. She forsakes her own understanding, replaces her context with his, leans into the One who already knows the outcome. She reminds God of His promises—the same way a patient reminds the doctor of what they said would happen if the medicine worked. She evicts every spirit that isn’t from God—fear, doubt, infidelity, confusion. And y’all, she gives Satan ALL the business. The enemy had been trying to take her marriage, her mind, and her peace. But she flipped the script—she stopped playing defense and started playing offense.
  3. When she was done releasing her own understanding and replacing her context with his, baby she turns her back on the enemy and struts into her home. She praised before she even knew the outcome. She acknowledged this because she was an heir of the almighty it was already done!
  4. I won't spoil the whole movie for those of us who haven't seen it. I won't tell you if the marriage survives or not. I will tell you this—SHE survives. She comes out on the other side stronger, bolder, unshaken.  I don't know this for certain, but I imagine she continues to yield to God's guidance anytime she is faced with any level of uncertainty because she knows that his guidance works!

Sip This Tea. Steep in this Truth.

When life hits us with the unknown, because it will, we don’t just react—we respond with faith, we P.R.A.Y..
Here’s our takeaway:

Place your trust in Him—spill all the tea in prayer.
Replace your context with His—His wisdom > your understanding.
Acknowledge Him in everything—praise Him before the breakthrough.
Yield to His guidance—trust that His way is better.

If God is the Author and Finisher, if He knew us before you were formed in our mother’s womb—what can we possibly tell Him that He doesn’t already know? In essence, we have nothing to lose but we stand to gain everything! - Hebrews 12:2 & Jeremiah 1:5

Closing Prayer

📖 Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Father, we thank You!
We thank You for the tea You poured into us today—the reminder that even in uncertainty, You remain constant. Lord, we decree and declare that we will place our trust in You first, not as a backup plan but as our first response. We will no longer run to Google, people, or our own reasoning before seeking You.

We declare that we will replace our limited understanding with Your divine wisdom. Even when we don’t see the way, we will trust that You are making paths straight before us. We choose to acknowledge You in every situation—the victories and the struggles, the blessings and the battles. And Lord, we yield to Your direction, knowing that Your plan is better than anything we could imagine.

God, we refuse to let fear dictate our choices. We evict every doubt, every lie, and every spirit of confusion trying to cloud our faith. We stand firm in the promise that You will guide us through every unknown.

Lord, as we move forward, we will not just hear this Word—we will live it. In our moments of uncertainty, we will stop, we will P.R.A.Y., and we will trust You boldly.

We walk away from this moment transformed, strengthened, and expectant, knowing that You are the Author, the Finisher, and the One who never fails.

We seal this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen! 🙌🏽✨
